Set in an infirmary for young women, a group of misfits deemed dangerous to society are fighting for their reformation. Their strict everyday routine and discipline is interrupted by a prospective visit from the Head of State. In a world where performance is necessary for survival, they will learn that a moment in the spotlight can be a radical act.
A death-defying circus act, a surreal dream, an urgent love song; GRLZ straddles both the epic and intimate, inspired by the #WeAreAllPussyRiot movement. This bold new play, sparked by the real-life story of its creator, has powerful resonance for anyone seeking hope.
GRLZ is performed in English and Auslan. The cast will include shadow interpreters as part of the staging and the story.
